~ ~ ~ ~ THE BIG RIP OFFS! ~ ~ ~ ~

Dennis Bergeron and
Bergeron Chrysler Plymouth
THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!

Have you ever been ripped off by big business? Couldn't even get a simple reply much less some kind of justice?

This is one of those times folks and I've had enough! If this small effort can save someone from the jaws of DENNIS BERGERON of BERGERON ~ CHRYSLER ~ PLYMOUTH ~ VOLVO ~ 3525 Veterans Blvd. ~ Metairie, LA ...then it's worth all the work!

I tried the proper channels, to do it by the book, to be polite, write letters. Chrysler actually called me and then passed the buck off on DENNIS BERGERON of BERGERON ~ CHRYSLER ~ PLYMOUTH ~ VOLVO. DENNIS BERGERON never even sent so much as a postcard.

Here are the 2 letters I sent, one to DENNIS BERGERON and later to CHRYSLER Corporation. If anyone would like copies of my paperwork please send a S.A.S.E. and one extra stamp to cover the cost of my copies and I'll be happy to send it to you.

Hopefully YOU can avoid being RIPPED OFF by DENNIS BERGERON!

Re:Service and Repair Dept.

Dear Mr. Bergeron,

I bought my very first brand new car (Reliant LE wagon) in the summer of '87. I lost that car in a rear end collision in February '91 and came back to Bergeron for another Reliant. You no longer made station wagons so I bought my Colt from you (April of '91). Both times I bought the L.D.S. policy at the suggestion of your sales person. It was worth it on the Reliant when the altenator went bad.

However, I never had any problems with the Colt until the a/c started giving me trouble last summer. The first time I brought it in (the first week of August) I got it back a few days later, test drove it and it still was not right. I returned later (the next week because I needed it for work) and got it back a few days later... the a/c still wasn't quite up to par and I had to return again. The third time it didn't last and the fourth time it didn't last either.

By the time Bergeron actually got it to work (or so I thought) it was September. The a/c would almost work when it was night time or not too hot but it did not work the way a/c is supposed to work... in the heat and daytime (when you need it most). By the forth and fifth time I was loosing my patients and went over Gregs head to speak with Mac. He was nice enough to authorize a rental (on my fifth return) while Bergeron worked on my car... for the fifth time!

By then it was September, things had cooled down and the a/c seemed to be working but certainly not like new by any means. By then I was tired of the run around from your dealership and let things go. Throughout this ordeal I suggested several times that the compressor was going out and that I had the L.D.S. policy to cover it. Bergeron kept saying it wasn't and kept changing out little parts (see the reciept).

To make this long story short... when I started to use the a/c this summer, it went out completely. I came back to you but only got of lip service about how much it would cost since my L.D.S. policy had 'expired'. How convient for Bergeron.

When I brought it to a place I felt I could trust, it not only cost alot less than anyone there had estimated but I also found out that the a/c 'clutch' had been jury-rigged because it had a intermitent connection and rather than replace that, it was simpler to jury-rig it to make it 'last a little longer'... Like maybe until the summer was over and/or my L.D.S. policy expired??

Mr. Bergeron, I don't think you would approve of this from your business and workers so I'd like you to make things right by re-embursing me for the cost of the a/c ($745.28). I've included copies of the only reciepts I have. I didn't get five seperate reciepts because they would just say 'bring it back' and not make me go through the paper work again. I trusted this would be alright... I see now that I should have gotten all the paper work each time.

However, the R.O.DATE on the first paid reciept is 08/14/96... the date on my credit card payment of $92.98 is 08/24/96... the R.O.DATE of the second reciept is 08/31/96 and the credit back to my Visa credit card on my fifth return is 09/08/96. Please note that Mac was nice enough to give me a return credit in consideration for my time wasted BUT I did insist on paying the $25.oo L.D.S. charge. I believe in being fair and had no problem with the L.D.S. charge even thought your service department took 5 times to (alledgedly) do the job.

In my opinion I tried to be fair all though this ordeal of no A/C in August but now I believe Bergeron was not, and may have actually took advantage of the situation. I am not one for confrontation and will not argue about this with anyone. I know what I know and have the paper work to prove (most) of what I say. If you would like to talk to me about this matter I can be reached afternoons at 733-2213.

If I do not hear from you by August 31st, I will assume you've dismissed this matter and I'll forward this letter to the Chrysler Corporation. This is not a threat and I will not be taking any legal action because I can not afford a lawyer, this is more a matter of principle. I believe I was taken advantage of.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Dear Chrysler,

I've enclosed a letter I wrote to Dennis Bergeron of Bergeron Chrysler Plymouth in August. I got no response (as I would have expected). As I wrote to Mr. Bergeron: This is not a threat and I will not be taking any legal action because I can not afford a lawyer so now this has become a matter of principle. I believe I was taken advantage of... I bet there are more like me out there that do not respond in any manner, they just take their business elsewhere.

I believe that today there are stronger things than lawyers, it's called the Internet. If I have not heard back from you by the end of October, you will find my next response on the internet. While this action my cost me a few more dollars and some time, I believe it will cost you more in loss of sales. The wonderful thing about the 'net' is... anyone can 'voice their opinion', share their experiences, and make a statement that potentially 50 million people can hear. Throught my last 12 years of computer experiences I've learned to be heard in cyberspace.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

encl: cc: Bergeron letter.

As you can see by the dates, I waited twice as long as stated in my letter to DENNIS BERGERON... still not even a postcard. While some of this may just be my opinion there are certain facts here. There were several other questionable dealings that I'd had with Bergeron but I had no proof. THIS TIME I BELIEVE I DO!
