PLEASE NOTE: There are evening concerts all over town throughout the
two weeks of Jazz Fes'. The daytime (at the Fair Grounds) are
pretty exhausting, so you might want to consider that when trying to
schedule your days and nights at the same time...

After I left the steady gig at the Chris Owens Club in '85 (which was our first Jazz Fes' year) I played several Jazz Fes' with her. This was the 'big band' with a four piece rhythm, percussion and 4 horn players. I'm on the left behind the grand piano, then ol' friend Roberto Moriera on guitar... he's still on that gig... 16+ years! My hat's off to ya' buddy!
Fun Fact #409.001
Well... I never know if I'm playin' the JazzFes' until the last
Sunday 'cause I've been called in on that short'a notice before. If it
happens I'll let'cha know, if not... Ces'la vie!
Fun Fact #409.004
My very first Jazz Fes' "gig" was Saturday, April 30, 1983 with
the great Ernie "Mother-in-Law" K-Doe and the wonderful
Jean "toot-toot" Knight... the
band was Southern Exposure. Ernie kept calling us the Naugahyde
Band and ran overtime with his James Brown "cape" imitation...
